Workplace safety
NSW work health and safety rules expect businesses to manage electrical risks in the workplace. Where plug-in equipment is used in conditions such as moisture, heat, vibration, mechanical damage, corrosive chemicals or dust, SafeWork NSW expects it to be inspected and tested by a competent person, with a record (which can be a tag) kept until the next test. Safety switches in these workplaces also need regular testing.
We can test and tag your portable appliances, test safety switches and repair switchboards, wiring and faulty emergency and exit lights. Emergency and exit lights are part of a building's fire safety measures, so faulty fittings should be fixed quickly. We don't carry out the six-monthly emergency and exit light compliance testing.
