What we do
Everyday electrical jobs make a home safer and easier to live in. As a residential electrician in Sydney, Impulse Electrical Enterprise handles the jobs below for houses, units and townhouses.
LED downlights, pendants, dimmers and outdoor lighting, for a brighter home that costs less to run.
Old fuse boxes replaced, safety switches added and tripping power fixed, including full switchboard upgrades.
New and moved power points, and tracking down faults when power or lights stop working.
New ceiling fans and replacements, with or without lights.
Hardwired smoke alarms installed, replaced and tested, so every level of your home is covered.
Home EV chargers on single or three phase power, each on its own circuit with a safety switch.
Safety at home
Many older Sydney homes still have switchboards with ceramic fuses, safety switches on only some circuits (or none), older wiring and too few power points, which can lead to overloaded powerboards.
A safety switch turns off the power as soon as it detects a fault, protecting people from serious electric shock. The NSW Government recommends safety switches on all circuits, tested at least every six months by pressing the test button.
If your switchboard still has old ceramic fuses, it's worth a look. We can inspect the switchboard and wiring, and we'll tell you honestly what needs doing now and what can wait.

Not always. It depends on the condition and type of the wiring, and we can inspect it and tell you. Signs worth checking include old fuses, flickering lights, warm switches and too few power points. If it's needed, we handle rewiring too.
Yes. In NSW, every home must have at least one working smoke alarm on each level, including rentals. We install, replace and test hardwired smoke alarms, and in a rental a hardwired alarm must be repaired or replaced by a licensed electrician.
