What we do
When the garage door won't open, the motor is often the cause. Impulse Electrical Enterprise handles garage door motor installation in Sydney, replacing failed motors and fitting motors to existing doors.
If your motor has stopped working, is noisy or struggles with a door that otherwise runs smoothly, garage door motor replacement is usually more reliable than repairing its internal parts. We remove the old motor and fit a new one.
Our garage door opener installation fits a motor to an existing door that's in good working order, so it opens with a remote.
We supply and set up new or extra remotes, wall buttons and keypads to work with your motor.
We install a power point near the motor and fix electrical faults. This work must be done by a licensed electrician.
Is it the motor?
These signs suggest your motor may need replacing:
If the door is hard to lift by hand, the problem is more likely the door or its springs than the motor. Newer motors reverse if the door meets something, and safety beams can be added across the opening, which matters with children and pets around.
What's included
| We look after | You'll need a garage door specialist for |
|---|---|
Garage door motors, installed or replaced | Supplying or replacing the door itself |
Remotes, wall buttons and keypads | Springs and cables (they're under high tension) |
Power supply and electrical faults | Tracks, rollers and other mechanical repairs |
Not sure if it's the motor or the door? Call us. If the door itself needs work, we'll tell you so you can get it fixed first.
Prices
Every job is quoted to suit the door, and we confirm the price in a free quote before we start. The price depends on the type and size of door (roller, sectional or tilt), the motor you choose, whether there's a power point nearby, and extras such as extra remotes or a keypad. Swapping a motor where there's already power is usually the simplest job.

Usually yes, if the door is in good condition and opens smoothly by hand. We check it first. A door that sticks or has spring problems needs a garage door specialist before the motor goes on.
We usually recommend replacing a failed motor rather than repairing its internal parts, because a new motor is more reliable. We'll check yours first and tell you what we find.
