What we do

Gate Motor Installation and Replacement

Tired of getting out of the car to open the gate? Impulse Electrical Enterprise handles gate motor installation in Sydney, automating existing sliding gates and replacing failed motors for homes, strata buildings and businesses.

  • Sliding Gate Motor Replacement

When a sliding gate motor fails or wears out, replacing it is usually more practical than repairing its internal parts, though minor faults can sometimes be fixed. Every sliding gate motor installation includes setting up and testing the safety features.

  • Automating an Existing Sliding Gate

Already have a sliding gate? We can add a motor once we've checked the gate slides freely and suits a motor. We install motors on sliding gates only, not swing gates.

  • Remotes, Keypads and Access Control

Complete your gate automation with remotes, keypads and fob readers that open the gate, and link it to an intercom so you can let visitors in.

  • Power Supply and Fault Finding

We run power to the gate motor and find electrical faults when a gate stops working. The gate motors we install run on mains power.

Safety

Safe Gate Automation

An automatic gate should stop and reverse if it meets something in its way. When we install or replace a motor, we set the force, test that the gate reverses and check any safety beams across the opening. We recommend safety beams, especially if the gate closes on its own.

The gate must also slide freely by hand before a motor goes on. A sticking gate strains the motor and can stop the safety features working properly.

Prices

How Much Does Gate Motor Installation Cost?

Every gate is quoted to suit the site, and we confirm the price in a free quote before we start. The price depends on the size and weight of the gate, the motor you choose, how far power needs to run, and extras such as keypads, extra remotes or access control. A motor swap on a sliding gate that already has power is usually the simplest job.

Gate Motor Questions

Usually yes, if it's a sliding gate in good condition that slides freely by hand. We check it first, and if the gate needs work, a gate specialist should fix it before the motor goes on. We don't install motors on swing gates.

It depends on the fault. Minor faults can sometimes be fixed, but a failed motor is usually replaced. We'll tell you which makes sense after checking it.

No. We install mains powered gate motors, and run the power supply to the motor where it's needed.

We install brands including Merlin, ATA, B&D, Ditec, FAAC, CAME and Nice, and recommend one to suit your gate.

We're based in Strathfield and handle gate motor installation in the Inner West and across greater Sydney. Check the suburbs we cover.
