What we do
Whether you need one extra power point or a dozen for a renovation, Impulse Electrical Enterprise installs, moves and replaces power points in houses, units and workplaces across Sydney, and tests every one before we leave.
Double and quad power points, including USB-A and USB-C power points, added where you need them, so you're not relying on power boards and double adaptors.
Power points moved for a new kitchen layout, TV wall or desk, with the old point made safe and covered.
Weatherproof power points for patios, garages, sheds and pool equipment, with the cable protected along the way.
Cracked, loose, scorched or burnt power points replaced, and the wiring behind them checked and re-terminated where needed.
A new circuit from the switchboard for an air conditioner, oven or other high-power appliance, protected by a safety switch.
Quad and weatherproof power points for offices, shops and warehouses, planned around how the space is used.
Safety first
Call us if a power point:
If someone has had an electric shock, or there's a fire or smoke, call triple zero (000) first. If a power point is sparking, smells like burning or is hot, stop using it. If you can safely reach your switchboard, switch off the main switch, then call us. Don't touch anything that is scorched, melted or wet. For urgent faults after hours, see our emergency electrician service.
Good to know
In NSW, any electrical wiring work must be done by, or under the supervision of, a licensed electrician, and that includes installing, moving or replacing a power point. We hold NSW Contractor Licence 389893C, and every job is completed or supervised by a licensed electrician.
Adding, altering or even replacing a power point like for like needs a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW), which we lodge with Building Commission NSW so you have a record of the work. The NSW Government's safety advice is not to stack plugs in a power point, as it can overload it and cause a fire, which is one good reason to add power points rather than power boards. It also recommends safety switches on all your circuits.
Prices
A new double power point starts from $357 + GST, and replacing an existing double power point starts from $223 + GST. These prices assume the wiring is accessible and in good condition, with a standard installation. Extra wiring, difficult access or fixing existing electrical faults can add to the cost.
